Located just 100 metres from the Port of beira, the Mozambique Bulk Cargo Warehouse is a state-of-the-art logistics hub designed to handle bulk commodities such as fertilizer, grains, and other high-volume cargo. Its proximity to the port makes it a critical link in regional trade, ensuring fast turnaround, reduced logistics costs, and secure cargo handling. The facility was designed and constructed by ODECON’s in-house engineering team, incorporating modern structural systems, reinforced flooring, and heavy-duty access points to support efficient cargo movement. Key Features: Impact: Strategically positioned as one of Mozambique’s closest warehouses to the port, the facility serves as a gateway logistics hub for regional and international cargo. ODECON engineered and executed the Nairobi Depot, marking a milestone in Kenya’s downstream petroleum sector. Expanded in 2010 with an additional 3,000 m³ tank, the facility was strategically designed for rapid product transfer and high-volume distribution, optimizing operational efficiency over long-term storage. Designed and constructed by ODECON, the Zanzibar Aviation Depot significantly enhances the reliability and efficiency of aviation fuel supply for the island’s growing aviation sector. Developed as an EPC project for OILCOM, the facility is supplied from the Mangapwani Terminal and is equipped with a modern fleet of aircraft refuelers to support safe and efficient airport operations. The Mtwara Depot Expansion is a major upgrade transforming the facility from its original 5,000 m³ capacity into a modern, high-volume petroleum storage and distribution hub. This flagship project includes four new 15-metre-diameter vertical storage tanks built to API 650 standards and a fully automated truck loading gantry engineered for high-throughput operations. Technical Highlights Current Status Once operational, the expanded depot will establish Mtwara as a key petroleum supply point for southern Tanzania and neighboring markets in Mozambique and Malawi.
